Day 1
i will weight myself every morning upon waking. But I will not post my starting weight. So look at day 2 for lbs lost and that will indicate what was lost from the previous day
Flex foods allowed include apples. I ate 2 tiny ones plus half a cucumber with salt and cayenne and 1 walnut. Nuts aren't allowed on this diet but I really felt protein deprived. I'm a daily meat eater. Maybe meat dependency is what I should work on breaking during this cleanse.
Also you're only supposed to have 3 flex items and I had 4.
Today I was hungry. No let me say it HUNGRY! So hungry that I wasn't hungry. If that makes sense.
Towards late afternoon I felt fuzzy headed and I had dry mouth.
Craving Mac n cheese and peanut butter.
Day 2
-4.4 lbs from starting weight
Today for flex items I had 2 apples, 10 walnuts, and 2 tbs honey (raw, local, unfiltered). Honey is allowed on this cleanse. But again, the nuts. I really think it's a protein deficiency/dependency. I'll work on cutting that out.
Today I wasn't hungry. I also went to see a friends band, wasn't tempted by birthday cake at all though I was tempted by the beer at the bar where the band played.
I had a strong craving for meat today. Really strong. I thought about meat al day long.
I had a headache, was kind of tired and still with the dry mouth.
Day 3
-5 lbs since starting weight
Flex items today were one banana, 1 apple, 5 walnuts with sea salt, 10 black olives and 20 pistachios.
Wow! I really fell off the wagon today. I see a pattern with the craving of salty foods so I'll pay attention to that. I love salt. Always have. There's actually a picture of me somewhere licking the salt lick on my grandparents farm when i was very small. I know salt is an addiction. I would choose salty foods over anything sweet any day. Starting to come to the realization that this cleanse is helping me become aware of what my food addictions/issues are. So far meat and salt stand out.
Today I wasn't hungry. Looking at all the flex foods I ate seems to contradict that. I wonder why I ate them. I'll pay more attention to that tomorrow.
Today was my grumpiest day so far. I actually yelled at my family for eating in front of me. oops.
Side effects today include the same fuzzy head and dry mouth but today I have dry, burning eyes.
I emailed the naturpath for Purium who replied within an hour which I found really impressive! He said the dry mouth and burning eyes are a potential side effect for some. I researched online and burning eyes can be a magnesium deficiency so I ate a banana.
I really craved an egg yolk (runny one), chocolate and risotto.
I had alot of energy in the am.
Day 4
-6.4 lbs since starting weight
Flex items I ate today where 10 olives, 1 banana, 4 walnuts (with sea salt, spices and a dash of nutritional yeast) and 1/2 cup of water melon.
Salt is my obvious addiction. No meat cravings anymore. Meat kind of looks gross. Except for bacon which will always be delicious. I also crave booze. I'm a light drinker. Maybe a moderate drinker. I drink a couple of times a week. I love to relax before bed with a glass of wine. There has been more than one time on this cleanse where I've contemplated a sip of wine but stopped myself because one sip of wine leads to a whole bottle for me... for you too? No, just me :)
By the evening I was up 2 lbs! Was it all the dreaming of booze or all the salt? I think salt. My body is retaining water. I wonder if I'd lose more if I cut out all salt. I know I keep saying I'm going to work on it, but I'm serious now. Salt is thine enemy.
Today it was extremely difficult to get out of bed and I really wanted an egg yolk. I had really poor sleep. I awoke at 4 am and was up for an hour. I thought the cherry apothe was supposed to help sleep but mornings have been the worst for me on this cleanse.
I was not hungry at all today. Maybe all those flex items :)
Conclusion after the first 4 days are that I really need to focus on the salt. My meat addiction seems to have been curbed so I'll pay more attention to salt.
I am feeling a sense of clarity around food. Food as fuel and sustenance rather than food to eat because it looks delicious. I think this is a good mental state for long term weight loss but it also makes me sad. I do like food and want to be able to enjoy a nice dinner out but now, just looking at recipes makes me feel blah. I have lost my interest in pretty food.
